About
Jeanie&Me
The creative seed for Jeanie&Me was planted in 2018 when my husband and I hiked 1000 miles though Patagonia.
Inspired by the pioneering settlers that we met there, true sustainability and clever recycling became my focus for the future.
On returning to the UK, I began my experiments in recycling. Many pairs of jeans later ‘Jeanie’ was born.
Now based in Cornwall, I use repurposed denim and Harris Tweed® to create my hoodies, shirts and bags.
In the ‘behind the seams’ blog, you can read snippets from the hike in Chile, tales of Westcountry life and other inspirations of Jeanie&Me.
Meet the designer & maker
Hello! I’m Rosie, the designer/maker behind Jeanie&Me.
I grew up in the Westcounty and lived for many years in the Outer Hebrides, where my husband is from. My lifestyle is nature-led. As a beekeeper, gardener and grower, I take enormous inspiration from the seasons and natural world.
Jeanie&Me allows me to create beautiful garments with a low environmental impact. Using fabrics which are inspired by nature (Harris Tweed) and reduce waste (recycled jeans)
Every piece pays attention to little details, and is designed to be cherished and enjoyed.
I currently work from my creative studio in rural Cornwall and have made bags and apparel for over 20 years. Until 2018 I ran a shop and workroom in Stornoway as ‘By Rosie’ working solely with Harris Tweed®. Here is where the much-loved Harris Tweed Hoody was born.

You can donate your jeans as part of our ethical fabric sourcing or commission a bespoke creation.
Why I recycle
I wanted to turn my blues about the fast fashion industry into something positive. The more I read about the extent of pollution, over consumption and waste, the greater my conviction was to recycle.
By using the abundant & beautiful resources that are already available to us, we significantly minimise our impact on the environment.
All my denim products are made from repurposed garments. My designs are built to be enjoyed, so I use new zippers and hardware to ensure they stand the test of time.
Every metre of Harris Tweed® cloth is still handwoven using British wool; a beautifully low-impact industry.
Repairs
Favourite items might end up needing a bit of TLC, as they get worn and used the most. I offer a free repair service on my own products, and a general repair service for anything else.
