February 2022, Lanlivery, Cornwall, at the new Jeanie&Me HQ.

In early January, Jeanie&Me finally moved out from the ‘sewing cave’ at home in my little cottage. With a lot of help from friends and neighbours, I set about clearing, cleaning and brightening up a disused office space and making it into a spacious and organised studio. Every day when I open the door I am filled with delight and thanks for this huge space where ideas can have room to grow, and sewing is once again a pleasure. In keeping with my recycling ethos, almost everything has been ‘up cycled’. Walls cleaned and painted, carpet pulled up and the chipboard beneath varnished. Windows cleaned, shelving cleaned and repositioned. Recycled chairs, bookcase and metal racking. The giant desk has been repurposed as a cutting table, the chart stands as design boards. Mirrors scrubbed and put back in action. 100’s of spiders re-homed! A dirty job but a rewarding one. Here follows a photo storyboard of the transformation.
