In summer 2022 we teamed up with Cornish clothing company Tinman, to produce a small batch of bags for Boardmasters festival in Newquay. This range used repurposed clothing such as jeans, heavy cotton skirts and mens’s shirts in the Tinman colour palette, to compliment their gorgeous range of organic and sustainable loungewear. Whilst most of the stock sold to festival revellers, you can grab the last remaining pieces of the collection here. Read more about how the collection came together below…
Tinman’s focus is on beautiful quality and sustainably produced clothing and accessories, with a percentage of profits being donated to mental health charities. All their logo designs have a mental heath origin, and this years charity is Sea Sanctuary, based in Falmouth, improving peoples mental wellbeing using sea based activities. Jeanie&Tinman: Summer collaboration.
Behind the scenes…
This collection used colour blocking to full effect with a fresh and bold mix of pale blue, black, white and grey, with pops of baby pink throughout. Seams, stitching details and natural fades and wears from the original garments were used as design features across the individual panels. Jeanie’s zero-waste production method meant that all the scraps were used for smaller and smaller panels, with each bag being a one off original. Tinman’s Tommy printed up some Tinman branding on our remnants, which were then sewn up into brand labels for the reverse of each bag. I whipped up a Fly bag for our cash bag at the festival, and we had a blast at the stand in the sizzling Cornish sun!
